Brook Street Social Care is offering a new exciting and rewarding role within the Supported Housing accommodation in Exeter.
You will be providing effective, tailored interventions to people on the streets based on their individual needs and characteristics, creating first line support for people that experience long-term rough sleeping.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • You will be making pro-active interventions with outreach clients to ensure comprehensive, person-centred advice and advocacy on housing and other issues.

  • Support clients to engage in consultation events both within the organisation and in the wider community
  • Work in close partnership with other outreach and floating support services working as one team
  • Attend weekly multi-agency review group to review service user's interventions, review progress and work towards positive changes to avoid a return to the street.

ABOUT YOU:

  • You understand the needs of rough sleepers and the effects of trauma on individuals with complex lives
  • You are PROACTIVE, PASSIONATE and RESILIENT.
  • You fully embrace the motivation and passion to advocate for individuals who have experienced homelessness or social exclusion
  • You can work flexibly and creatively with individuals who may have seemingly intractable problems

WHAT'S FOR YOU:

  • Sliding salary scale with salary increases every year for the first 3 years
  • Supportive induction
  • 27 Days annual leave (extra day off for your birthday)
  • Generous Pension Scheme

MUST:

  • Understanding of the needs of rough sleepers and the effects of trauma on individuals with complex lives.
  • DRIVING LICENCE and access to a car.
