Job Title: Housing Management Worker
Location: York, UK
Salary: £27,575 per year
Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days on a rota basis)
Driver's Licence Required: Yes

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and organised Housing Management Worker to provide safe, secure, and empowering accommodation and support services for women in York who are experiencing multiple disadvantages. You'll play a key role in managing safe houses, providing practical and emotional support, and working collaboratively with other professionals to create lasting change.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular property checks to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Report and follow up on repairs; maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support women to complete housing benefit forms and manage rent payments.
- Work with women to create support plans, risk assessments, and realistic move-on goals.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy breaches.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and multi-agency partners.
- Help women access services related to domestic abuse, substance use, mental health, and criminal justice.
- Maintain accurate records using our case management systems.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working with vulnerable women or those with complex needs (e.g. domestic abuse, substance use, criminal justice)
- Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills
- IT competency (Word, Outlook, internet-based systems)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a trauma-informed team
- Driver with access to own vehicle and appropriate insurance
Desirable:
- Experience using housing management software
- Understanding of housing benefit processes and tenancy management
- Experience working in a multi-agency setting
