Job Description

Support Worker

Temporary contract

Starting from £13 an hour (+ holiday pay on top)

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

An exciting opportunity has come up for experienced Support Workers to work in a specialist educational establishment in Carmarthenshire working with 16 - 24 years olds with ALD, physical disabilities and complex needs.

This role is challenging and rewarding. We are looking for people with great character and a desire to make a positive impact on young people's lives, and to provide students with support and guidance to help them engage in timetabled sessions in a safe and appropriate way.

The students benefit from an extensive range of nutritional, therapeutic, and medical support at each college that is reflected in the college sessions. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting a career across care and education.

To be considered for this role, you will need -

  • At least 6 months up to date UK based care experience
  • To be a driver with access to you own vehicle
  • Have a strong desire to support young people.
  • Ideally previous experience working with young people or in a similar setting.
  • Have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
  • Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations
  • Be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential setting.
