Male Domestic Abuse Case Worker

Fixed Term Contract - March 2025

£25,000 per annum

Neath and Swansea

Are you passionate about supporting high-risk male victims of domestic abuse? We are seeking a dedicated Male Domestic Abuse Case Worker to join our team and provide a high-quality, proactive front-line service. This role involves working within a multi-agency framework, including the MARAC and local partnership responses, to ensure the safety and empowerment of male victims in the Swansea Bay area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Assessment: Identify and assess the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist.
  • Case Management: Manage a caseload, ensuring each client receives a service tailored to their individual needs.
  • Client Empowerment: Support and empower clients to recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and regain control of their lives.
  • Sensitive Handling: Deal with sensitive and emotive issues, challenging behaviour, and difficult situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Legislation and Policy: Stay updated with relevant legislation, local strategies, policies, and procedures to provide informed support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in supporting victims of domestic abuse or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency framework.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle challenging situations sensitively.
