Job Description

Now Hiring: Support Workers with Heart, Skill & a Great Sense of Humor!


Location: Jesmond - just a stone's throw from West Jesmond Metro!


Full-Time Days | Salary: £24,473-£26,128 DOE + Qualifications

This is a vibrant and welcoming 10-bed residential service for adults aged 20-30 with a range of communication and support needs. All individuals have communication difficulties and use a variety of communication aids. Some individuals are wheelchair users and may require physical support for daily activities.

We believe in empowering individuals with dignity and choice - and we're looking for Support Workers who can communicate creatively, show compassion, and make every day meaningful.


What You'll Be Doing

No two days are ever the same. You'll be part of a close-knit, supportive team helping residents thrive. Tasks include:

  • Supporting with personal care, medication, and moving & handling

  • Using alternative communication tools to connect with residents - Essential

  • Assisting with daily routines, activities, and community involvement

  • Being a reliable, respectful, and uplifting presence


Shift Patterns

We keep things structured and flexible:

  • Weekdays: 7am-3pm or 3pm-10pm

  • Weekends: 12-hour shifts (e.g., 7-7, 8-8, 9-9, or 10-10)

  • Rotas are published 2-3 months in advance so you can plan ahead


What We're Looking For

We're looking for experienced Support Workers who:

  • Are confident using a range of communication aids and techniques and can demonstrate this

  • Have experience supporting people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and complex care needs

  • Are ideally qualified with Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willing to work toward it - we'll support you to gain these qualifications)
