Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities? Brook Street Social Care is excited to announce openings for dedicated female Support Workers in a serene community setting in Thornbury. This role is essential for providing personal care and support, and we are committed to creating a safe environment for our service users.

Role Overview

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with learning disabilities, Autism, and other challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Caring and Supporting: Assist service users in engaging in various activities such as crafting in the workshop, cooking and baking in the kitchen, and gardening. You'll also help them prepare nutritious meals and participate in fun activities.
  • Medication Administration: Ensure that medication is administered correctly, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Encouraging Independence: Help service users develop skills and confidence through hands-on involvement in daily tasks.
  • Creating a Positive Environment: Foster a nurturing atmosphere that promotes social interaction and personal growth within our idyllic complex.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months in a social care environment is essential.
  • Training: Medication and personal care training are required.
  • Availability: The most common shifts are from 17:30 to 22:00 (4.5 hours), available every day. Weekend shifts from 07:30/09:30 to 22:00 are also available, along with occasional weekday shifts.
  • Driving License: A driving license is preferred but not necessary.
  • DBS Check: A DBS on the update service is desirable but can be discussed about new applications
