π Support Worker - Young People Leaving Care
π Location: Weston-super-Mare (Single-Occupancy Flats) π Temporary Role, Β£12.50 per hour + sleep in | Flexible Hours πΌ Agency: Brook Street Social Care.
π¬ Help Young People Take Their First Steps to Independence
We're recruiting passionate Support Workers to guide young people (16+) as they transition out of care and into independent living. You'll be supporting them in their own flats, helping build confidence, life skills, and a sense of self-sufficiency.
π§ What You'll Be Doing
Prompting with daily tasks: cooking, cleaning, laundry, filling in forms
Encouraging independence and routine
Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience
Promoting safe medication habits (where needed)
Handling verbal challenges and emotional behaviours with care
Lone working-but always part of a supportive team
π What You'll Need
β 1+ year experience supporting young people β Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People β DBS on the Update Service (preferred) β Energy, compassion, and a "can do" attitude β Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills β No sponsorship available
π‘ About the Service
This is a highly person-centred service supporting care leavers as they prepare for full independence. The team is caring, committed, and dedicated to helping each young person thrive. Most placements last 6-12 months, with the goal of moving into unsupported tenancies.
