Job Description

Support Worker: Supported Living Brain Injury (Female Driver required)

Contract: Ongoing (long days and sleeps)

Pay rate: £10.42 - £13 per hour (PAYE) *subject to change with minimum wage in April 2024*

What will you be doing?

Due to the requirements of the client, applicants must be female drivers with access to their own vehicle to aid in transporting and supporting the client out in the community. The individual you will be supporting is young lady in her mid-20s.

For this role, you must be flexible and able/open to work long day sleeps and happy to complete shifts lone working with the client. Your role will be supporting various needs including financial, social, communication and recreational where you can make a real difference. You will also encourage them to learn new skills, help them get out into the community and aid to meet their needs.

The post holder will be considerate but have a firm attitude when needed when supporting the individual. The client often likes to go out into the community and spend time with her family. Please note that you will be providing emotional support and companionship and therefore require experience and/or transferable skills.

**The role has been advertised gender specific due the people being supported. It is therefore exempt from the Equality's Act 2010**

Requirements:

  • Due to the needs of our clients at present, you must be a driver with access to your own vehicle
  • 6 months UK based care experience in the last year OR a year in the last 5 years
  • Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
  • Willing to undergo DBS and reference checks
  • Willing to undertake personal care
  • To be approachable, friendly, proactive and engage with the services users
  • Great communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
