Your Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be the friendly, dependable presence our residents can turn to. You'll help them navigate their recovery, access vital services, and work toward independent living. This is a role for someone with empathy, resilience, and the confidence to work alongside a multidisciplinary team.


What You'll Do

  • Be a steady hand & listening ear: Offer emotional support, guidance, and reassurance to residents.

  • Support recovery: Help residents access counselling, rehab, and other addiction services.

  • Secure housing futures: Assist with finding permanent accommodation and sustaining tenancies.

  • Work as one team: Collaborate with counsellors, social workers, and healthcare professionals.

  • Manage risks: Keep the environment safe and supportive for all.

  • Keep track: Maintain accurate, confidential records of support provided.


What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Background in a homeless hostel, addiction services, or similar setting.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of homelessness, addiction, and recovery principles.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication & people skills

    • Flexibility for shifts, including evenings/weekends

    • Crisis management & conflict resolution abilities

    • Commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding

  • Qualifications: Social care or addiction-related qualifications are desirable.
