Job Description

Are you seeking a new opportunity to help make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability?
Do you have experience of managing teams within services for adults with learning disability?

If so we'd like to hear from you and especially if you meet the criteria below. We're seeking a Team Manager who is keen to manage a Supported Living Service near Kendal, Lancashire. Working for an established charity whose mission is to help provide vulnerable people the opportunity to live and work as independently as possible within their community.

The role:
As a Team Manager you will be responsible for day to day duties including:

  • Managing a staff team of Support Workers who provide support to adults 18+ who may have a learning disability and autism
  • Working with support plans, rotas and managing risk assessments
  • Dealing with any budgeting and finances
  • Working with the team to ensure compliance and the safe delivery of the service

Ideal Person for the role:

  • Ideally you will have experience of managing a similar setting and have knowledge of working with people with a learning disability
  • Be fully flexible to ensure the smooth running of the service
  • Be adaptable and have excellent leadership skills together with communication and organisational skills
  • Have a positive and 'can-do' approach to work and be strong leader of people
  • Your innovation and creative approach to work will also be key
  • Ideally qualified Level 5 in Leadership & Management or willing to work towards it
  • Car driver with flexibility to travel to other services where required
  • IT literate and competent
