Role Overview:
As a Women`s Refuge Case Worker, you will be at the forefront of providing expert, specialist, independent, and crucial domestic violence/abuse services to women and children in Cardiff. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, making a real impact on the lives of those in crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for clients accessing our clients services.
- Provide immediate crisis intervention with safety and support planning.
- Assess and address the risks and needs of service users through detailed assessments.
- Make referrals to appropriate safeguarding agencies.
- Support, signpost, and refer women and children to the services they wish to engage with.
- Maintain accurate and timely case records.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Good understanding of domestic violence.
- Familiarity with civil and criminal justice remedies for domestic abuse and their children.
- Understanding of child protection issues and appropriate responses.
- Proficiency in risk assessments.
- Experience working with vulnerable people, including families and children.
- Experience managing a caseload.
- Experience in working within a multi-agency framework.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent crisis management skills.
- Driving and/or Welsh language skills are desirable.
