Role Overview:
As a Women`s Refuge Case Worker, you will be at the forefront of providing expert, specialist, independent, and crucial domestic violence/abuse services to women and children in Cardiff. Your role will be both challenging and rewarding, making a real impact on the lives of those in crisis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients accessing our clients services.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention with safety and support planning.
  • Assess and address the risks and needs of service users through detailed assessments.
  • Make referrals to appropriate safeguarding agencies.
  • Support, signpost, and refer women and children to the services they wish to engage with.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Good understanding of domestic violence.
  • Familiarity with civil and criminal justice remedies for domestic abuse and their children.
  • Understanding of child protection issues and appropriate responses.
  • Proficiency in risk assessments.
  • Experience working with vulnerable people, including families and children.
  • Experience managing a caseload.
  • Experience in working within a multi-agency framework.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Driving and/or Welsh language skills are desirable.
